Arkansas Valley Christian Mission
Mountains Move uses faith-based outdoor adventure and horsemanship programs to strengthen faith, restore purpose, and provide fresh perspectives in Colorado's scenic backcountry for veterans. The organization hosts small group retreats focused on healing, building community with veterans and walking toward God-given callings. They also host one-on-one week-long mentorship journeys and leverage the power of equine power in all of their programs by adopting, training and stewarding Mustangs. Mountains Move has discovered the abundant spiritual, physical, and emotional analogies that exist in a life with horses.

Community outreach is a great way to impact the community you live in and are a part of, whether it’s by greeting people on Sunday morning, volunteering at another organization within the community, changing the oil in cars for Car Care Clinic, serving community members during Second Saturday Serve, or by serving in many other ways as part of Valley Fellowship.
Check out some of the various ways to serve within our community below! To find out more, or if you don’t see something that excites you, click the button below, fill out the form, and our coordinators will contact you. We’ll find a place for you!
Every second Saturday between April and October, Valley Fellowship gathers together to make a difference in the Buena Vista and Chaffee County community by helping those who need an extra hand with basic maintenance projects, yard clean-up, painting, cleaning, sorting or organizing, the list goes on. We’ve got something for everyone, whether you’ve got a green thumb, a steady paintbrush or fantastic organizational skills, we’ve got a place for you to make a difference!
If you {or someone you know} needs an extra helping hand, click the button and fill out the form with as much information as possible and we’ll be in touch!
If you’d rather simply serve others, meet in the foyer at 9 am every second Saturday between April and October {check the calendar for current info} and bring a smile and helping hands!
Ark Valley Christian Mission ministers to those who are in spiritual and physical need according to God's provision with food, financial support, help and love. The Arkansas Valley Christian Mission exists to assist those in need with such things as food, shelter and the basic necessities of life, to serve the poor in spirit with a listening ear and a caring heart and by offering a Christian perspective, and to serve as a gathering place where the love of Christ can be shared and experienced in a non-denominational setting.
If you’d like to donate your time, contact AVCM at (719) 395-9321 or ark.christian.mission@gmail.com.
Treasured and Protected
Treasured and Protected is a local ministry that helps teen schoolgirls in developing countries stay in school. We make and donate washable feminine hygiene kits for girls who don’t have access to disposable pads so they can manage their periods independently and with dignity. Volunteers are needed to help sew the kit components (all sewing skill levels) and assemble the kits.
